Stolen Opioid Medications and Pain Management Denial: Common Story?

I just got off the phone with someone who told me his story which is, unfortunately, an all too common story. He has been using opioid medicines for eight years to manage his pain. He tried everything before he tried opioids and these medicines were the only thing that worked to relieve his pain. He had several guests at his house for Thanksgiving and when people left, he discovered that his month's supply of pain medicines were gone...
The FDA reports that PriCara and Sandoz, Inc. have announced a voluntary nationwide recall of all lots of 25 mcg/hr Duragesic Patches (fentanyl transdermal system) sold in the U.S. The recalled patches all have expiration dates on or before December 2009....
Back Pain
Americans are spending more money trying to ease back and neck pain, but new research suggests those extra dollars aren't buying more relief. The increased expenditures were expected, said the authors of a study in the Feb. 13 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, but the lack of results weren't.
